Photographer's Apprentice

Jevin's been asking for some photography lessons, so we pulled out my backup DSLR and I gave him a brief overview on how to use it. He was pretty excited to get outside and start shooting. I can't wait to see his photographs!

Sunflowers at Sunset

I was back at Pope Farm for a family photo session. The sunflowers are spectacular and there were so many people out to enjoy them. It was a truly beautiful end to the evening.

Suncatcher

It's been too hot to do much outside, so we set out to find some air-conditioned fun. We created some fused glass projects at a local art studio and Jevin made this colorful suncatcher.

Blooming Butterflies

We visited Olbrich Gardens today and had a chance to see the Blooming Butterflies display. It's always an impressive event and the kids enjoyed seeing the butterflies in different stages, from chrysalis to fluttering butterflies.

Wheat in the Field

Day 189/365
I am a sucker for admiring wheat growing in the field. I have to take pictures of it every year, trying to time the pictures as close to harvest as possible. There is a farmer just a few miles from us that plants wheat in part of his field every year, and I decided to venture out near sunset to take a few pictures.
