We officially finished school today - whoopee! The kids kicked off summer with an afternoon in the pool followed by a summer jam session.

Guitar Lesson
Day 139/366
A rainy, home-bound Monday afternoon is a perfect time to learn something new! Enavi asked Jevin to teach her how to fingerpick on the guitar, so they set about with her first lesson. He even gave her homework!

Virtual Worship
Day 100/366
Good Friday is almost here and our church will be streaming a Good Friday service to honor the sacrifice Christ made for us on the cross. Jevin and Davin are helping with the music portion of the worship service, and Jevin is getting a little practice time in before we record the songs for the video. It's not the same as being able to worship together as a body of believers, but I am so thankful that we have the ability to worship together remotely through technology. Sunday is coming!

Name That Tune
Day 70/366
Me: Hey, would you be willing to walk over to the barn, sit in the hay and play your guitar while I take pictures.
Jevin: Sure!
What a great kid! He's always up for photo adventures. He played the same song for me three times while I took pictures... and then he asked me what song he was playing. I knew the band, but I wasn't 100% sure of the song. Just in case you're wondering, it was My Lighthouse by Rend Collective.

For the Glory
Day 54/366
I attended our church's women's retreat this weekend, which is always uplifting, encouraging and lots of fun. The retreat center where we stay has a lovely view of the sunrise, and I woke up early so that I could watch the sun peek over the horizon. A few moments later I turned my head and I noticed that the light was falling on the piano, perfectly illuminating this sign. What a glorious reminder as we wrap up our retreat!

Leading Music
Day 50/366
Jevin has had the opportunity to lead music at Awana the last couple of weeks, filling in for a friend who is on vacation. I was wrapping up a few things at church and stayed for a few extra minutes to hear him play and sing. It is such a blessing to see our kids use their talents to worship the Lord!

Guitar Practice
Day 7/365
Jevin spent some time choosing songs for worship on Sunday. He typically plays once a month at church, and this is his week to choose songs. I so enjoy hearing him play and it's an added bonus when Enavi and Davin sing along, like they did tonight.

Christmas Program
Day 341/365
Enavi's fall semester of REACH wrapped up tonight with their Christmas program and art show. The program was adorable and we even got to see Nana Sue, Grandpa Ken and Aunt Carrie. We celebrated with dinner at Sugar River Pizza after the performance.

Happy Thanksgiving!
Day 326/365
We enjoyed a lovely meal at Tali and Jason's, celebrating and giving thanks for our many blessings. We also had a chance to share some scripture and sing a few hymns. We have so much that we are thankful for, and our family tops the list.

Trollway Piano Players
Day 242/365
I spotted this piano early this morning as I went for a walk with a friend. When I told the kids about it, we decided we had to visit downtown Mt. Horeb and play a song or two on the troll-themed piano. The piano is pretty old, and the keys are in rough shape, but it was still fun to play.
