Treasure Found

We purchased new furniture and had to clean out all of the cracks and crevices of the old furniture before getting rid of it. Oh, the treasures we found! The favorite item is definitely this old iPod touch. The kids think it is so funny to play the games on the teeny-tiny screen.

Evening Walk

I went for a walk on one of the trails at Stewart Lake during Jevin's martial arts class. The air was cool, but I heard birds calling, water burbling and rustling from little critters. It felt so nice to be out on the trails, enjoying the evening sun.

Zucchini Bread

I've been working on cleaning out the freezer, which means using up some of the food that we have stashed in there. We have several bags of shredded zucchini from last summer, which means fresh zucchini bread.

Kids Cook Thursday

The kids have taken to cooking dinner for us on Thursday nights, which we have dubbed "Kids Cook Thursday." This week, Jevin prepared chicken parmigiana, linguine, bread and salad. Enavi would have helped, but she's still not feeling well and spent most of the day resting on the couch. We all enjoyed the tasty meal from Chef Jevin.

The kids have the creative bug! They both pulled out some canvases that they had previously painted on and decided to rework them. They used acrylics and spray paint and made new works of art.

Playing with Inks

Today we took a class with Nana Sue where we learned to make abstract flowers with alcohol inks. The instructor taught us several techniques and we were able to make three different pieces of art. These are the kids' favorite pieces they made in class.

Full Moon

The full moon was rising and I walked across the yard to take a few pictures. As I was setting up the camera and tripod, I heard coyotes howling at the moon, which made it even more beautiful.
