Condensation

I noticed the condensation that had formed on my glass during dinner and thought it would make for an interesting picture. Once I looked at in Lightroom, I noticed the subtle hints of color around the drops of water. I decided to edit the photo in a way that really enhanced the color in the droplets. I think it made a pretty unique photo, and it was fun to make a new discovery.

We had some friends over this afternoon and we enjoyed time playing, swimming and jumping on the trampoline. The kids also enjoyed picking mulberries, as you can see by the tell-tale purple stains on various extremities including, but not limited to, noses, lips and fingers.

I found this little guy hanging out on our storm door this afternoon. Before I set him back outside, I took a few pictures of him admiring his reflection in the door.

Black and White Kitten

Some of our barn cats had kittens this spring and we are slowly trying to tame them. They are so cute and fluffy! We spotted a batch of kittens hanging out in the shade of the trees and we were able to pick a couple of them up and pet them. They are absolutely adorable. This little guy was the bravest one of the bunch, peeking out of the hostas to check us out.

Birthday Cupcake

It's a special day in our house - the day my little man turns 10 years old. He is now double digits! We had a day packed with fun and smiles - time with friends at the splash park, the arrival of Nana Huldy and Grandpa Bruce, a trip to our favorite bakery that makes delicious vegan treats my kiddos can eat, opening presents and watching the Lego Movie. Jevin said it's been his best birthday yet. We have more celebrating to do tomorrow, but today was a great way to kick of the birthday bonanza.

Neon Straws

Our internet is working again - yippee! I took this photo earlier this week, trying out a new technique for me called zoom burst. I focused on these neon straws and slowly zoomed in while the shutter was open for about one second. It is a really fun effect!

Technical Difficulties

We are without internet access at home, which explains the lack of posts this week. I'm hoping to be back on-line in the next day or two and then I will catch up with all of my missing photos.

We spent some time with our friends Audrey and Matt this afternoon, and I took some pictures of their adorable and busy boys. This picture (taken on the same trestle bridge we visited a couple of weeks ago) is one of my favorites.

We visited Mr. Howard, a friend from church, who happens to have four horses. The kids had the opportunity to feed, brush and ride a horse for the first time. They both loved it!

I decided to try out some different effects in Lightroom as I processed this photo. It was kind of fun to try something new and I like the end result simply because it gives the picture a unique tone. I could see a print of this hanging on one of my walls.

Oh. My. Word. The highlight of my day, week, possibly even month was getting to cuddle, snuggle and photograph this little baby girl. She's 12 days new and all kinds of precious. She was a picture super star!

Horses in the Field

I went for a short drive after dinner, looking for some photographic inspiration, and came across a couple of horses grazing in a field. They were quite intent on munching that delicious grass, but I did manage to snap few shots in between bites.

Not a bad way to end a day that started out with rain and cloudy skies. The sun came out after lunch and we enjoyed a lovely afternoon, with time at the park with friends, swimming in the pool, playing baseball in the yard and a cool pineapple whip treat. We were also treated to this beautiful sunset. God is good!

Rainbow in the Sky
